Blogournalism: Knee-Slapper

I don't think this is funny and not because I live in Brooklyn. I do appreciate it as a response to JoeScough (the idea of the iPad being the biggest media story of 2010 illustrates the distance some media figures have from important things - though I guess I am glad to hear that media figures' lives are changing).

I have some questions. Is Brian Williams jabbing just the NYT or media in general? Is he poking young culture's interpretation of capitalism? Did he have this written out before-hand? Why is JoeScough laughing so hard? Does Brian Williams think he can write a real piece of journalism about changes in the economy? Does his pronunciation of "borough" and "artisanal" reflect any form of classicism? When was the last time any of these people were not in a controlled climate? Are there hints of jealousy and insecurity in his longing to primitively sit and build a fire? Is it meta for him to sarcastically talk about people ironically wearing glasses? Why Marrakesh?

that is some of the oddest television i have ever seen . . . almost waiting for christopher guest to chime in. and what about the general stature of his attitude? to be so boldly insecure, as if his spite were relevant.

somehow, we've managed to lap existential thought — and now its lost in the lights. i'm afraid this only going to get more complicated.

HAHAHA! I loved this clip! Jay, you asked very important questions, all of which I considered, but I boiled it down to this...

Brian Williams is a true media talent. He's made numerous appearances on SNL, Conan, and 30 Rock. Now he's on Morning Joe, a show Brian Williams could think isn't the most important show in the world. It's late December, they're talking about the years past. Any answer is easy to criticize in seriousness, but in jest (which was Brian's attempt) he dodges the question and gets to look like the funny man. Poking fun at the Times. Poking fun at Brooklyn, which has gotten more coverage in the last 5 years for being a diverse and progressive place. Poking fun at a serious answer.

I must admit I like a litte JoeScough every now and then. I've even shaken hands with Willy Geist!
