i was expecting much more down-home . . . four-to-the-floor, wordy four line chorus, i'm not sure what they're after.
Me too...I just heard they were doing this and found myself defending them to the person I was with. This somewhat reminds me of the most recent My Morning Jacket effort, but the MMJ I liked.
