obviously on the search for new movies, just came across "tetro," FFC's latest. and it's already out! you'd think the guy who's previous work tops every 'best movie ever' list would get a little bit o' buzz, eh? thinking, i might have to grow old in france.
anyone stomach his last one, "youth w/o youth?" that'll tie you up . . .
First of all, the preview you linked for Whatever Works was the best preview I've seen of the movie yet. I've seen a couple before, but they just let me thinking that this was a movie about Larry David being a child molester. The link you provided actually made the movie look good.
I have to say, I LOVE Larry David. From what I've read in the media, this is Woody Allen's first movie in New York in quite a while. I love New York more than my family, so I'm hoping seeing the town on the big screen accompanied by David and Allen's humor will make this movie a winner.
FCC has fallen off. I don't remember the last movie he's done that I've given two shits about. Last I saw him he was selling luggage.
i'm right there with ya loving larry — i think my subconscious has pretty much adopted the WWLDD code of conduct. although i worry about him as a feature length actor.
you should check out Youth Without Youth, its rare form. think you'd dig it. i believe that was his first in a decade or so . . .
Oddly enough, I think I'm going to try to check out "Tetro" this weekend. I just heard FCC on an Adam Carolla podcast, and now I really want to see it.
You and Adam Carrolla...you should check out Youth w/o Youth, vewwwwwwy intewesting. (I just realized Natty Bo said that right above your comment.) Woody Allen gets a little slammed with his newer stuff...Vicky Christ Barca was awesome and the new one is WOODY and LARRY...I'm there. I heard about Tetro as well, definitely checkin' it out. I'm loyal to Coppola. Also, anyone see Jarmusch...The Limits of Control?
So I saw "Whatever Works" this weekend instead of "Tetro." I thought it was pretty good, not great. The plot is pretty, pretty, pretty unrealistic, but regardless it was a good time with a somewhat touching ending.
