It was least notable in this performance when compared with the others, but how the fuck can the Grammy Awards get away with such terrible, terrible audio for their live performances? SNL sounds a bajillion times better.

I noticed that through the whole show. It's like the sound kept clipping and dropping out on several occasions. All in all good performances last night, and one of the more entertaining Grammy's in quite a while, but they've got to get a handle on the sound issues. It's the equivalent of the Oscars having video problems.

I heard the boss used a track at the S.B.

It's rather mind boggling...get George Martin in there or something...at least make an effort. I guess they're too worried about something scratchin' their crotch or saying "fuck."

By the way, that U2 intro was funny...i like to think of it as going down like this:

Bono to rest of guys, "so you guys will set up as usual, L'Edge in skull cap on stage right...you two...whatever you usually do"

L'Edge, "what about you...?"

Bono, "oh, I'll be behind you guys singing on a platform right in front of a massive Jumbo Tron streaming psychedelic images and my lyrics...(peering above transitional lenses and snarling a smile at band)"

L'Edge, "but..."

Bono, "(interrupting)...you get to play guitar for fuck's sake - be happy I don't start making solo records"

Also notice how cleverly Bono was at the same time doing his usual bit of saving the world. Those were some pretty world saving words that were flashing behind me. Made me think that someone had shown him the Bob Dylan video to Subterranean Homesick Blues a few days before the show and he went "Fuck, I wanna do that".
