Fucking Ridiculous

As you all know I've fairly or unfairly bashed Hillary for her tactics over the past few weeks but now she's hit the bottom (if that was at all possible). As reported on Drudge, With a week to go until the Texas and Ohio primaries, stressed Clinton staffers circulated a photo over the weekend of a "dressed" Barack Obama. The photo, taken in 2006, shows the Democrat frontrunner fitted as a Somali Elder, during his visit to Wajir, a rural area in northeastern Kenya.

To play on American stereotypes and fears of Muslims in this way is despicable. This coupled with her campaign accusing him of being a Muslim and her staffers circulating a "Barack Obama is a Muslim Manchurian candidate" email has me wondering what sort of backlash this could have on the rest of her political future. For stuff like this she deserves to go down in flames. Guess this is what the death of a political dynasty looks like.

*Follow Up* I just got off the phone with a lady from the Clinton campaign and she completely dismissed my call, so I called the DNC to complain at which point I was told that there phone lines are burning up from irate people. Apparently I'm not the only one pissed off.

If there were pictures of Hillary in a burqa, you can bet they'd be the main pic on Barack's MySpace.

I don't think it's accurate to attribute all of these anti-Barack rumors to Hillary's campaign. Drudge Report is not usually a pillar of reputable reporting and she's not the only one who's feeling threatened.

While I don't think Barack's mailers are outrageous, they are evidence of him being capable of the same dirty tricks that Obamarons accuse the Clinton campaign of all the time. And his integrity is all he's got to run on.

Yeah, I'm a little hesitate to believe anything, "...according to Drudge."

Actually it's now on Time, CNN, Politico, Huffingtonpost, Talkingpointsmemo, and Fox news so I'd say this story has legs. Obama's campaign manager has come out saying "On the very day that Senator Clinton is giving a speech about restoring respect for America in the world, her campaign has engaged in the most shameful, offensive fear-mongering we’ve seen from either party in this election. This is part of a disturbing pattern that led her county chairs to resign in Iowa, her campaign chairman to resign in New Hampshire, and it’s exactly the kind of divisive politics that turns away Americans of all parties and diminishes respect for America in the world".

A senior Clinton staffer has come out saying "We can’t be sure that it didn’t come from us. It is not the intent of the campaign to release this picture to tarnish Senator Obama in any way. But if someone in the campaign thinks the Obama gets treated differently by the media, well they’re right,"

You be the judge but it sounds to me they aren't denying it and are trying to shift the blame.
