There's a charm in imagining a Kanye or Katie Perry or some other overtly current pop record being marginalized by Julian. Ultimately, I can't imagine he's recording broken love songs in open E tuning, but hopefully the man can move contemporary pop music in a more relevant direction (to myself of course)... something Thom York failed to do with his solo effort.
You're right, but Thom Yorke did make "Eraser" by himself and a Macbook pro, that was kind of the point. Julian's album, if anything like is promotional video, seems much more ambitious.

Judging by Julian's promotional video (an earlier post), I think he's operating on a slightly bigger budget than Thom's "Eraser" was.
budget schmudget...i'm sure the revenue for In Rainbows could get the US out of debt.
