A while ago Todd and I were talking about what to call "soft beverages." It's called "Soda, duh," I rudely replied. Now I understand why Todd thinks I'm wrong. He ain't from 'dere.
[insert negative Ohio stereotype comment directed at Todd here, I typically go with something involving "corn"]

I love the website's "conclusion."
I feel Americans who really enjoy pop -- those who consider themselves true pop connoisseurs(like myself) call it by its true Christian name.
Also, what are the people that file under "other" calling it? Soft drink? Fizz beverage? Carmel water?
Down with soda! Die yuppie scum!
Also, if by "corn" you mean "rock and roll" then I accept the comment with open arms.

And all the out-west white zones, are they just drinking milk?
Pop doesn't make sense. It's like calling water "drip".
The surgeon general recommends 8 glasses of drip a day.
I grew up saying pop in Chicago. Then I moved south which fucked everything up since everything is first called coke, as in "i'll have a coke" to which the waitress replies "what kind? we have coke, sprite, dr.pepper".
Now I live in soda land and do a double take whenever I hear "pop" come out of someones mouth.
Yea, coke just comes off kind of dumb. I'll have a coke...what kind...Pepsi.
I go with Soder personally
